A Jazz guitarist, Composer and Educator. Always trying to keep himself inspired in order to express thoughts and feelings that he needs to "share" with other people. He is always interested in new music; however, he wouldn’t characterize himself as an avant-garde composer. He is influenced by the music of East European Composers such as Alfred Schnitke, Sofia Gubaidulina, Andrjey Panufnic and Krzysztof Penderecki, some music of his teacher Nicholas Sackman and mostly from his jazz background as a Jazz Guitarist. In his opinion, it is a Composer’s duty to be in touch with contemporary music, however, one should not be prone to any prejudice or aesthetic cliché as well as the constant stress of being modern. Looking for originality and being always ready to look with a critical eye at his/her accomplishments, the Composer will be able to decode the ‘real’ and the ‘ideal’ that is always necessary for creative composition.
Versatile musician, guitarist, vocalist, composer, producer and arranger Steve Lukather was born in Los Angeles on October 21 in 1957. Before his father bought him a guitar and a copy of Meet the Beatles at the age of seven, Luke started to play drums and keyboards. "I love keyboards, I write all my songs on keyboards except for the real obvious 'burn' tunes. I find it much easier, you have all these great synth sounds and you play a C chord and it's sounds like God, and you start thinking melodies as opposed to chops."(Lukather, 1986).
Victor Smolski, the son of Professor Dmitry Smolski, one of the leaders of the Russian composers of the present time, was born on 01.02.1969 in Minsk (Belarus). He was 6 years old when he began studying the piano and cello, the guitar followed and at the age of 11 years he was professional already. He played together with the Belarussian rock band "Pesniary" when he was 14 years old. "Pesniary" sold about 10 million(!) records, being a band, which can be compared with the German band "Scorpions".
