In 1984 - together with his brother John- drummer Donald Tardy formed OBITUARY, the band that would later create and refine death metal, a genre that still has a strong impact on extreme and not so extreme metal today.
Their debut Album Slowly We Rot was released in 1988 and immediately gained worldwide respect for its unique sound.
In 1990 Cause of Death was released which still revered as one of the best death metal albums of its time and launched the band's popularity into a worldwide spotlight and put them on the road and a worldwide tour.
Their third album "The End Complete" showcased Donald's progression as a true monster behind the kit and the band's song writing stepped up to an even higher level which earned this 1992 release as their labels biggest selling album at that time.
